At The British International School of New York, we are delighted to offer a robust program of competitive sports and a rich variety of after-school clubs.
These activities are designed to expose students to new skills, support athletic development, and foster new friendships. Clubs and teams change from term to term and are always age-appropriate, with some options not available to our youngest students.
From autumn soccer in Central Park to winter basketball games, our BIS-NY Bulldogs represent the school proudly in a range of competitive sports. These events help build school spirit and a strong sense of teamwork.
Students also enjoy creative and enriching clubs such as Debate, Robotics, Ballet, and many more. There is something for everyone beyond the classroom.
One standout initiative is the BIS-NY Green Team. This passionate, student-led group is committed to improving sustainability within our school and in the wider community.
BIS-NY is proud to offer a range of competitive sports.
At The British International School of New York we are delighted to offer a varied and robust competitive sports programme. Designed to offer exposure to new skills and areas of interest, as well as encourage master across the field of sports and athletics while promoting new friendships, our sports clubs and teams vary from term to term.
Beyond the classroom our team sports provide another opportunity for our students to engage with their team mates and peers at schools across the city. Whether it is our BIS-NY Bulldogs playing autumnal soccer in Central Park, or winters spent on the basketball court, school pride and spirit are proudly on show through our soccer, basketball, swimming, track & field and tennis teams; competing against local independent schools in the American International Private School League.
Competitive school sports are available to all students in Year Six (5th Grade) upwards, and we are fortunate to be able to use our partnership with Asphalt Green among other world-class sports facilities to give these teams the best possible spaces to practice and improve their skills.
In addition to our varied program of after-school clubs, our After-school Care is open to children all of ages.
This is available from 3.30pm – 5.30pm for a daily charge, and during this time children are encouraged to read, make a start on their homework, or play and socialize with their friends under the supervision of our staff.
