What the Dickens!

It was a day of Dickens at The British International School of New York today as the children across all the years spent the day exploring relevant themes. In the Early Years, time and focus was spent on creating costumes which transported the students back to years gone by. Year 5 spent some time working on analysis of Dickens' characters. Just how did he create such amazing characters and how could they apply some of those techniques in their own creative writing? Year 9 were reflecting on Dickens' legacy, and how Christmas is celebrated in British and American culture. The dining room, expertly decked out by our Parents' Association provided a brilliant backdrop for the day's festivities and there wasn't a "bah, humbug" to be heard anywhere across the plaza...
