Fun Forensic Endeavors at BIS-NY
MYP (Middle Years) forensics reached dizzy heights yesterday with a visit from two inspiring criminologists from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in New York. Meeting real life forensic scientists meant that our junior forensic scientists had the opportunity to ask many questions about their work. They also had some questions about their own recently gathered evidence from a faux crime scene at Waterside Plaza. Students learned about DNA profiling, created their very own DNA models and heard about the role of criminologists in a court of law.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in New York is the largest DNA crime laboratory in North America with over 160 scientists. A brilliant and unique experience and maybe some new career ideas for all!?
