Queens Hall of Science Trip

The BIS-NY Middle school students commenced 2016 with a trip to the Queens Hall of Science where they were challenged to solve a crime (based on real life) in the Forensics Lab.

They used suspect dossiers as background information as well as scrutinizing the importance of following the scientific evidence to solve the crime through fingerprinting identification, chromatography, fabric combustion observations and decoding messages using a given formula. Through the skill of elimination and deduction, students arrived at suitable conclusions. They also enjoyed exploring various museum exhibits such as Light Island and the Mathematics area.
