Born and raised in New York and San Francisco, Andrea was educated at Radcliffe College, Harvard University, The University of California, Berkeley and King’s College, London where she pursued undergraduate and graduate studies in Mathematics.
Andrea became the first woman teacher at St. Paul’s Boys’ School and then again at King’s College School in London. She also spent a year as an investment analyst with Quilter, Hilton, and Goodison. She temporarily retired to have her six children but returned to education with her first major school project, the foundation of Abercorn School in 1987.
Based on the success of Abercorn and her knowledge of the US system and the NY market, Andrea proudly opened The British International School of New York in 2006.
Educated in London at St. Pauls’ Girl’s School, Abigail attended the University of Manchester where she completed her BA in Linguistics. She undertook a Masters degree in Marketing and Management in London, graduating in 2000.
Following her MA, Abigail worked for various Advertising agencies including Publicis before moving ‘client-side’ as a Brand Manager for L’Oreal in London. After two years she moved to New York with L’Oreal to assist in the launch of a new cosmetics line for the company.
Looking for a change away from consumer goods and a move into a more strategic role in the family business, Abigail joined Abercorn's sister school The British International School of New York as Strategic Director in 2006 where she remained until 2013, before returning to London with Abercorn School. She returned to New York in 2016 and is now Deputy Chief Executive of both BIS-NY and Abercorn School in London.
Abigail has two children, and is a proud parent at The British International School of New York.
Sheila joins the board with a wealth of knowledge gained from extensive experience as a partner in a London based top twenty firm of chartered accountants. Her professional connections with the school in London go back over many years.
Sheila is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA) and currently operates her own practice acting for owner managed businesses and private clients. Sheila lives in Dorset.
David Morse has been associated with both Abercorn and BIS-NY for a number of years initially as the Founding Headmaster of The British International School of New York and most recently as Head of Abercorn School from September 2010 until August 2014.
